Our founder, Deane Wymer, inspired so many of us. His integrity, work ethic and care for others are woven throughout our company core values. In an effort to reward employees who go above and beyond to live those values, we created “The Deane’s List,” which bestows $100 on recipients to spread a little good in our world in a way that honors Deane.
Kathy Burge is our inaugural inductee to The Deane’s List! Kathy is the office coordinator and official welcoming party in our Enid office. She’s the epitome of not following the status quo and exceeding client expectations. Kathy notices the little things and makes our clients feel so welcome – many of them come to meetings early just to visit with her. She’s always willing to help a teammate, and her smile and energy are contagious! Kathy used her little bit of seed money to sow happiness around Enid:
- She paid for the orders of the cars behind her in the Freddy’s and Starbucks’ drive-thru lines.
- She purchased gift cards to restaurants and movies and left them around our office for coworkers to find and keep.
- She taped money to vending machines in the local hospital emergency waiting rooms.
- She MATCHED the $100 reward with her own money and made a donation to her church.
Here’s what Kathy had to say about the experience:
“I’m so honored and humbled you chose me for The Deane’s List. I truly feel everyone in our company deserves this honor. It sincerely caught me off guard to hear my name called. I hope I used the funds in a way you would have wished. Paying it forward is completely addictive, and I have no intention of stopping! I hope I made someone smile along the way, but most of all, I hope Deane would be proud of me and think I’m a worthy representative of this wonderful firm he started 50 years ago. Thank you for trusting me to spread some cheer!”
