Expands Firm’s Presence and Tax-Smart Services in OKC
Wymer Brownlee Wealth Strategies announced today the acquisition of Oklahoma City-based tax, accounting and wealth management firm FD, Thompson, which will expand its presence in Oklahoma City and enhance the delivery of tax-smart financial services to clients.

Wymer Brownlee Wealth Strategies bridges the gap between tax advice and wealth management, offering a comprehensive approach to financial management. Through this acquisition, Wymer Brownlee Wealth Strategies will expand its regional presence, which includes seven offices across Oklahoma, and strengthen in-house tax and accounting services with the addition of FD, Thompson members David Thompson, CPA and Steve Rothaus, CPA and staff.
FD, Thompson was founded in 1946, and after several successful decades in the industry, Thompson and Rothaus assumed leadership of the firm. Over the years, FD, Thompson acquired practices to advance its ‘tax-aware’ solutions for clients and expand its knowledgeable, professional staff. In 2011, FD, Thompson was tapped to serve clients of Owen & Thorp—including several of the founding Sonic Industries franchisees—upon the retirements of Bill Owen and Arthur Thorp.

Rothaus and FD, Thompson employees will join the Wymer Brownlee Wealth Strategies team in its Oklahoma City office at Portland and Memorial. Rothaus will serve as a tax director for Wymer Brownlee, directing all tax compliance and planning projects with the assistance of the firm’s Oklahoma City tax team. Thompson will remain involved throughout the business transition and work with clients in an ongoing consulting role.
