Kristina Tyner Named 2022 Grants for Gratitude Recipient

November 14, 2022

Wymer Brownlee Wealth Strategies is excited to announce the winner of its fifth annual “Grants for Gratitude” program, awarding Drummond Public School Kristina Tyner $1,000 for her successful efforts to teach gratitude to students.

“The sense of appreciation for every experience leads us to the path of gratitude and kindness, but more importantly, sharing that kindness with those around you,” said Stephen O’Neill, Senior Wealth Advisor at Wymer Brownlee Wealth Strategies. “We look forward to this program each year that acknowledges a teacher who put kindness, gratitude and friendship at the core of their lessons and teachings.”

Tyner started teaching at Drummond schools this year and has already left a positive mark on her choir students and the teaching staff. She teaches her choir students how to be kind in the classroom and outside of it when participating in extracurricular activities. In addition to her choir class students, Tyner created The Fish Fisherman’s Club with her family to honor her late son, Andrew, which aims to get other friends and children involved in fishing. She also seeks to help families through the club’s mission, “Fishing for Healing,” where she supports and counsels other families who have experienced a tragic loss.

“Even though Mrs. Tyner has only been with our school for a short time, we appreciate her kind spirit she shows to not only her students but to our staff at Drummond Public School,” said Devon Schafer, principal of Drummond Public School. “Mrs. Tyner has been a positive advocate for teaching her students how to be kind to one another and always goes above and beyond to teach and talk to our students in a way that displays true gratitude.”

Wymer Brownlee’s Grants for Gratitude program takes place annually, awarding one teacher $1,000 to use at their discretion to support teaching gratitude and other life skills in the classroom. Parents, students and community members may nominate a deserving teacher at wymerbrownlee.com/gratitude between the start of the school year and Thanksgiving break. Winners are announced the first week of December.
